March 17

My first recollection of a “reggae” song was a SNL skit “Tyrone Green and his Reggae Band” from 1982.

Rock music incorporating a ska or reggae beat was out there I know, but the ones often sighted, The Beatles – Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Sugar, Sugar by the Archies, etc. blended in to my ear as nothing worth special note.

With Reggatta de Blanc, it was right there in the title of the record!

For edition #2 of my Discogs Police catalog adventure I found a $5.00 copy Listed by BigCityRecords out of Maplewood, NJ:

Media Condition: Near Mint (NM or M-)
Sleeve Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

With $4.00 shipping I’m all in for $9.00. After some gentle prodding to get the seller to ship the thing I’m happy to report another successful transaction! This record did need a thorough cleaning but plays well with just slight surface noise. I’m 2 for 2 with the Discogs marketplace.
