December 19

I used to love the holiday television specials around this time of year. The Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’s the Frosty The Snowman’s but especially A Charlie Brown Christmas:

Released 50 years ago this month, the animated holiday special was based on the Charles M Schulz Peanuts comic strip.

Most of these television specials had some parable they were trying to teach… there was always a moral to the story.

A Charlie Brown Christmas was no different… in the end the neighborhood kids and Charlie Brown’s dog Snoopy discover the true meaning of Christmas!

I haven’t seen the show for quite some time but I did find this near mint copy of the score on Fantasy Records recently. It’s been a great soundtrack for tree trimming!

“… that’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”
